The Power of Choice

Inspired by my daughter-in-law Beth, I am selecting a mantra for each month. Last month it was "There is always, always, always something to be thankful for." It coincided with the topic of the Positive Psychology class that I taught last month.

This month I have chosen "I always, always, always have a choice." The power of choice is also the topic for my Positive Psychology class and the lesson I will be teaching in church this month. Oh how I love to teach, because I learn so much more than I would otherwise. And so now I declare:

It is my choice to either complain or solve a problem.
It is my choice to either forgive and love or be bitter and hate.
It is my choice to either regret or learn from the past.
It is my choice to either criticize or compliment.
It is my choice to either try and control people or just love and be a good example.
It is my choice to either be miserable or be happy.
It is my choice to either eat healthy and feel great or eat crappy and feel lousy.
It is my choice to do something productive and make a difference or waste my time on something the is not meaningful.
It is my choice to either regret what I don't have or be grateful for all that I do have.

I can try to have a good day or I can MAKE a good day. I am choosing to make everyday the best it can be. IT IS MY CHOICE TO BE HAPPY AND OPTIMISTIC.
